KUNDALINI RISING:
Songs of Power and Spirit

by Honora Finkelstein

A PARABLE OF THE CAVE

We each of us live in a cave of rockhard walls,
That we erect to defend ourselves
From perceived attacks from others.

I perceived an attack from you,
            my brother,
And crawled into my cave to lick my wounds,
And sit alone in the darkness.

But I missed the dawn
            inside my cave
So I gathered my strength
            and came back out.

It's so much warmer living in the light.

Last night I heard you cry out in your sleep
In the darkness of your cave.
And I heard and felt your pain.

I call you, little brother.
Come out and take my hand.
Let us sit in the warm light together.
